Creative ways to keep your kids photos organized

Wooden polaroid frame, and photo storage box

If you’re anything like me you love taking 1000 photos of your family, especially your kids. As a photographer I always have my camera handy so when the moment strikes for the perfect photo I’m always prepared. Something that I’m not so great at is organizing the million photos I capture. So I did some digging and found four great ways to keep your kids or families photos organized. Keep reading to see what they are and how I use them in my home.

Wooden storage box/frame

I seen this super cute wood box the serves both as a storage box and a frame. It’s small and can be used for polaroids like the one I linked below. You can also find larger size boxes on esty. What I love about these boxes is that they are a great way of switching out photos that you want displayed. That way you don’t have a ton of frames all over your home (if that’s not what you want), and instead you just display one photo and rotate as you like. They way I use this in my home is when I have a new gallery I love that I want to display. Normally in a gallery I end up maybe only displaying one or two photos and the rest get stored. This box allows me to make use of the entire gallery without having it be a cluster of photos. I’ll link one example of the box below.

Classic Photo album

You can never go wrong with a classic photo album. There’s a reason why these don’t go out of style. That is because they work and are great decor pieces. A creative way I’ve seen friends display their photo albums is by year. They use the regular photo albums and simply label with the year on the side of the book that they want displayed. What I love about this idea is that if you’re looking for a specific photo, all you have to do is remember the year it was taken and it becomes easy to find. I normally see these displayed in office rooms or family rooms. I display my photo albums in my T.V. stand and book decor. It also makes them super easy to look at instead of placing them in a box and forgetting them forever. I’ll link a great album below.

Photo storage cases

Now if you are a huge fan of organizing, you're going to love this tip. I discovered amazing photo storage cases that not only store the photos safely but also keep them super organized. The best thing about these storage cases is that they have a great seal once closed. This is really important because you don’t want your photos to get damaged in storage. Another great feature to these storage boxes is that they come with built in organizers. You can easily categorize your photos by year, event, or child. You can find them in different sizes depending on your needs. I think these are perfect if you have tons of photos. I’ll link a great one below.

Store prints and hard drives

If you are looking for a way to store both photo prints and their hard drives, then I found the perfect solution. I discovered a personalized bottle box that holds prints and USB hard drives. I think this is perfect to store wedding photos and videos. The cool thing about this box is that it also protects your photos and allows you to organize them where you have the USB drive that belongs to the photos in one spot. Often as a photographer, I have lots of USB drives and hard drives stored all in one spot and my photos stored in a different location of my house. It is a bit of a hassle having to find a hard drive that has the specific photos I’m looking for. I love that this gives you the option to easily access both if needed. They also come in different sizes. I will go ahead and link below.

I really hope that these tips help you or give you ideas at the least on how to organize your photos. The best part of my job is that I get to freeze a moment in time. So when it comes to my family, I take this super seriously, and I almost want to freeze every single moment I experience with them. This of course results in tons and tons of photos that I need to store and keep safe to later enjoy and pass down to my family. These tips really worked well for me and helped me get organized and clutter free. Let me know if they also work for you below in the comments or if you have any other suggestions.
