Congrats you’re expecting a little bundle joy! Now you’re looking into maternity photography but are unsure if you want to make the investment. Depending on where you are in your pregnancy you might be self-conscious about your body or maybe you haven’t had the easiest pregnancy so far. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to have this magical glow everyone talks about. Everyone’s experience is truly so different and they are all so uniquely beautiful. One thing I can tell you for sure is that you need to celebrate your pregnancy you won’t be pregnant forever so embrace this to the fullest. Believe it or not you’re going to miss that belly one day. 

Celebrate your pregnancy 

I know that not everyone enjoys pregnancy with all the body changes the symptoms and with everything that comes along with being pregnant. Some women are desperately counting down the days to where they can finally meet their baby. With all this in mind the last thing you might want to do or even think about is having maternity photos. Trust me when I say that you need to celebrate yourself and this pregnancy! You’re a mommy to be this is a big deal! Whether you’re a first-time mom or if you have already been down this journey before doing this for your self is something you will cherish forever. 

A Gift your child will want forever 

I know I’m not the only one who’s asked their mom to see any picture where she was pregnant with me.  I believe my mother only has one photo of herself when she was expecting me and I was super bummed because I was so carious to see how she looked carry me in her womb. It’s just such a beautiful thing to see as a grown adult. I cherish that single photo so much. We love our mothers so much and to look back at photos where we where in their womb feels like a full circle of life moment. Your child will be grateful they have these memories to possibly even share with their children. As mothers we know how important it is to look back at photos of our littles that we often forget that we need those memories of ourselves as well. 

Reviling the Gender or name 

If your thinking of a specially way to reveal your baby’s gender or name to your family and friends this is the perfect way to do so. You can do this in many ways during your maternity session. This is a fun concept to add to your session that can server multiple purposes besides gender and name reveal. You can use the photos for your baby shower invites or for a holiday card, they always look beautiful displayed in homes. 

Capture the moment before a new chapter begins 

Regards, if you’re a new mom or if this is your 3rd pregnancy things will change. If you’re a first-time mom you’re closing a chapter of your life and entering a completely new one. If you already have children these will be the last moments as the family, you currently are now a new member is coming and things will change. Capturing this moment is important because it will only happen once in your life. 

Bonding time with your partner

It needless to say once baby arrives things will change between you and your partner. A maternity session gives you the excuses to have these intimate moments together think of it as a date. It’s truly beautiful sharing these changes with your partner you’re both in this journey together and you should celebrate this once in a lifetime moment. It’s also a moment to reflect on your relationship on how you got here and how you both created this life.
